Built as a joint project of the Village of Durand and local businesses, Medina Nursing Center opened in 1965. Since its founding, we have served thousands of individuals and families throughout northwestern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.A level of professionalism is demanded of staff members which results in respect and dignity for those in our care. Operations are guided by an on-staff director. Experienced nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs are present every hour of the day and night.

A patient’s relationship with their personal physician need not change when they come to Medina, assuming the doctor is in the area. Besides our own nursing facility, an independent medical clinic is on our grounds.

In partnership with Select Rehab, Therapy First By Medina’s skilled physical, occupational and speech therapists provide therapeutic interventions for a wide range of specialized services for young and old alike. Therapists at Medina attend an average of three to four professional education courses per year in order to bring fresh treatment approaches to a complex population of patients.

For patients having end stage renal disease, Medina has partnered with PRS LLC Dialysis to provide onsite dialysis. Our dialysis team includes experienced, licensed RNs and technicians who are CPR and AED certified and are present throughout the entire treatment, renal dietitians, renal social workers and board certified nephrologists also partner with us.
