Salem Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare, located at the highest elevation on the Waterview Hills Campus, primarily services the Long-Term Care resident, offering sub-acute rehab as well.
Noted for its exceptional Alzheimer's/Dementia Care, the "Halcyon Room" at Salem Hills is a sensory tranquility room – featuring an artificially created atmosphere designed to stimulate the senses by bringing together multi-sensory equipment in one place. This multi-sensory experience relieves stress, anxiety and pain and has been shown to help people with autism, brain injury, challenging behaviors, dementia, developmental disabilities and mental illness. Patients pre and post surgery, and in palliative care, benefit as well.
Salem Hills is defined by its "patient centered care". In this peaceful and private setting, residents are treated with dignity and respect while receiving the quality care they need.
The dayroom and most of the 38 private rooms offer magnificent far-ranging mountaintop views, and the beautifully expanded outdoor patio and gardens are available to residents and their families. In addition, the property borders the woods, and on one mountainside wooded area, horses from a neighboring stable come up through these woods (behind their fence) to visit. The residents love it!
