The Pleasant Acres Nursing & Rehabilitation Center operates under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a long term care facility. Our facility is among the largest and finest county nursing homes in the Commonwealth with a bed capacity of 375 skilled-nursing beds, and 32 independent-living beds. The mission of Pleasant Acres is to provide to the citizens of York County a long term care facility that maintains the highest level of resident care available and encourages each resident to achieve the fullest use of their mental, physical, spiritual and social capacities.

Pleasant Acres Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is committed to promoting the quality of life, independence and wellness of its residents. In recognition of this commitment, the home strives to deliver the highest quality of health care with honesty, integrity and fairness. Pleasant Acres feels that caring about people is as important as caring for them. Therefore, kindness and understanding shall be afforded to all residents and their families by a team of caregivers that abide by the highest professional standards.

Admission is available to all adults without regard to race, creed, color, sex, age, handicap or national origin. All residents shall be treated with the care that will ensure their personal dignity.

The actual management of Pleasant Acres is the responsibility of a licensed Nursing Home Administrator. However, all matters of policy and major improvements must be approved by the York County Board of Commissioners, who retain ultimate responsibility and authority.

Pleasant Acres Nursing & Rehabilitation Center has assumed a progressive role in geriatric education and training. We pay for the Nursing Assistant Program along with an hourly wage. If eligibility requirements are met, we also offer reimbursement if the Nursing Assistant Program or testing has been completed. Pleasant Acres is committed to continuous training for its employees. Volunteers, both individuals and groups, are an integral part of the facility operation. The Pleasant Acres Auxiliary has actively supported the facility for many years providing for the needs of our residents and staff.
