Founded in 1940 by the Association for the North American Baptist Churches of the Dakotas, the vision of Baptist Health Care Center began with the Dakota Conference of Women’s Missionary Union setting aside $100.00 for the future project of an Old People’s Home.

Seventy-five years later, Baptist Health Care Center is still proudly serving the Bismarck area, offering skilled nursing and hospice services. From its inception, the mission of Baptist Health Care Center has encompassed service grounded in the love of Christ. Christ cared for people, meeting their physical and spiritual needs because of His great love for them. We follow His example as we minister to the needs of our residents.

Currently, Baptist Health Care Center has 140 beds devoted to skilled nursing care, 18 of those beds are dedicated the memory care unit.

In 2009, prompted by a desire for an outside partner with expertise in operating multi-service campuses, Baptist Health Care Center merged with Elim Care, based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

Both entities are evangelical, faith-based organizations specializing in providing excellent senior housing and healthcare services. Together, the two organizations share over 150 years of service to their respective communities.

With the newfound partnership between Baptist Health Care Center and Elim Care, it is anticipated that the services of Baptist Health Care Center will be expanded in the next two to three years.
